  • Went swimming today and glanced at myself in my swimsuit in the mirror. I was compelled to take a picture then I went back in my photos on my phone. Found this picture of when I first got this swimsuit. I was 280 pounds in the left picture, in the right picture which was taken today I weighed 212. My advice for anyone on a weight loss journey is to take progress photos! Even if you hate what you look like in the mirror someday you will be happy to have these photos to help share your journey with other people! At my high weight of 295 my waist measured 55”. Today I’m down to a 41” waist. This has been a long journey but I wanted to share a bit of my story. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with postural Orthostatic tachycardia syndrome or other wise known as POTS. I had to use a cane when walking just to keep my balance. Today I’m able to walk over 3 miles without stopping with no cane or assistance device. My next goal is to start jogging. I’m still a little over 40 pounds to my goal weight but I’m learning to enjoy the journey.

Great job! Those photos always show the differences. My sister in law is always good at grabbing these terrible pictures of me, but they are coming in handy on this journey, because I can see the difference

Inspiration!!

Do we win with the progress weigh in?

No, you have to be below your goal weight when the game ends and you weigh in then.

Corinne B

No just members (which is another fee).
In the dietbet it's just the 4 week weigh in, where if you reach your goal, then they split the pot with all the winners :trophy:

I’m trying to post daily through this game!!

Judith H.

In my experience this host games are more active with post. She's not on here as much as other social media platforms. It does help me to get on here and see all our post.

What’s a progress weigh in? And how much do we need to have lost for prize?

It's optional, you can post updated weigh ins anytime you want. As far as prizes that is for members only, which is a separate subscription. Your month goal for the diet bet, should be at the top of your page....hope that helps

Judith H.

You are a member, orange star, so once a week verified weigh in gets you entered into weekly drawing.

Your body is your worst enemy....I was up 7 lbs from last Wednesday's weigh in, and I can honestly say I only had 1 cheat ... with a bag of chips. This is nothing new for me . I have seen being up 5 pounds over night...then the next day be back down...I think my goal this month , is to only jump on the scale once a week, instead of every day...its too discouraging .

It’s totally normal - did you know that your weight fluctuates from 4-7lb in a single day?

It can be hard to get out of the habit of daily weighing and I’ve recently started weighing more frequently than once a week-and generally if I’m looking going >.< I concentrate on drinking enough water and throwing some more veggies on my plate - but if you’re looking and it’s more than yesterday compare to a week or two weeks ago and focus on the trend rather than comparing two very close figures…

Great info, Ruth! Thanks for the article! That makes me feel better about my fluctuations.

Question…. The pot said it was $41,000. I got a notice saying me and 596 other people Won $52. That adds up to $31,000. Where the other 10,000? This is my first game so I’m just trying to understand. Thanks for the info in advance.

@Shannon L It was!

Beth

I was in that one too! Everyone was (rightfully) LIVID about the payout! And if they paid the $5 to be a member, they really lost money on the bet! We each only got $38 back, and there was even a $5k pot bonus! (That DietBet took a share of!!)

Lexi’s always seem to have a fair and reasonable payout!
