From some one that has LOTS of stretch marks from having two really big babies (9.6# & 11#) .....wear the bikini, be confident about it, & love it! Confidence is more beautiful than anything else! And remember.....COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY!

bahhhhh

First, you shouldn't worry about what strangers on a beach are going to think of you. That said, I know how hard it is to turn that voice off, and I know that insecurities are not chided away. So. Rather than spending your time at the beach fretting about your bikini, maybe you can grab a cute cover-up to help transition yourself into the bikini? Shed it when you feel more comfortable? You should be proud of your hard work, and I wish all women could just smile into the mirror and truly like the reflection-- but life isn't should's and wishes. Take your husband's compliments to heart, and find a way to rock the bikini AND some comfort :) (also, 70 lbs?? GO YOU!!)

You have a few things on your side: you are young and you put on the weight over time, instead of in a couple years. Continually hydrate your skin with good creams or oils as you go (like Emu oil). They aren't cheap, but taking care of your skin through this process may help. I don't have personal experience with this, but I'm in medical school and that is what we have learned about skin changes through drastic weight changes. Good luck to you!

If you want to avoid baggy skin as you lose weight, it is pretty helpful to include weight lifting/circuit training. This type of exercise seems to help build both muscle and connective tissues, which tighten the skin as you lose weight. I can tell you that the loss of 60 pounds, from 207 to 147, for a person of your 5'3" did not result in baggy skin for me with my weight lifting/circuit training and walking regime.

Awesome!! Congrats!

Skinny McSlimpants

That is my story too. Two years ago I was at 230 pounds, lost 40, then crept back up. My rock bottom was a few months ago when I stepped on the scale and realized I was 270 pounds. I am now back down to 230, my goal weight is 130. Im losing this weight not only for my own health but so that I can be the best mother I can be for my young daughter. You must feel amazing (and you look it) and I cant wait for the day when I can feel that way too. I realize now that losing this weight is going to be a lifetime of commitment and dedication. I am ready for that challenge!

Go work out NOW! Don't think about it...just do it. I tell myself it doesn't matter if I want to work out. Think of it as an important meeting with yourself....Bosses don't cancel! I heard that somewhere and it stuck with me.

Thank you so much everyone for the reminders and new advice! I Still need to kick my butt into gear. I failed yesterday as much as I hate to admit. It comes to "O I will do it during this free time (then something comes up) - so a bit later- or wait for my husband to get home so I can get him involved" NO!!! I need to quit waiting for him. If he wants to workout with me I will just get 2 workouts in, right? In the beginning of my journey I would go to the 5:15 am class at Ferrell's. Now that I am about 8 weeks out from Ferrell's I am slipping hardcore. I need to schedule time in my day- so it is an appointment that I will stress to keep. There have been times I have agreed to a 20 minute workout in my mind and ended up working out an hour and 20 mins. You ladies are all so right. I am feeling pretty pathetic I didn't do it yesterday. With all the stress I was dealing with- it was probably the perfect solution.
